Metadata for Video & Photographs

<prev | next >

You may have submitted the best content, but if our users can't find it, it is not going to earn you much. This is why following our tagging guidelines is critical to the success of your portfolio. While our editors review and modify metadata to optimize search results, there is often a backlog, and the data you submit plays an important role in their process.

Required Fields

Title

Your title should be descriptive but limited to 10 words or less.

In the example to the right, a good title would be: "Older woman holding bouquet of roses"

Description

The description is where you should add additional information, such as TBD

In the example to the right, a good description would be: "An older woman smiles as she holds a boquet of roses inside her home"

Keywords

In the example to the right, good keywords would be: "flowers, roses, mother's day"

Recommended Fields

Batch/Shoot Name

A batch or shoot name is useful as it helps our users find similar content when looking at a sumbission that is close, but not exactly right for their project. I also helps you to organize your sumbissions. We will automatically append the name you provide with the submission date. The batch name you chose should be short and simple, for example: "flower delivery"

Shoot Location (video/photography)

While not required, including the location can increase the likelihood your submissions will be approved. Format should be City, State/Province, Country

Shoot Date (video/photography)

While not required, including the shoot date can also increase the likelihood your submissions will be approved. Format should be YYYY-MM-DD

Camera Used (video/photography)

If your video or photographic submissions require troubleshooting or post-production touch up by our editors, knowing the camera used to capture the footage can help.

Camera Settings (video/photography)

Like above, if your video or photographic submissions require troubleshooting or post-production touch up by our editors, knowing the camera settings used to capture the footage can help. Please include settings such as original format, aperture, shutter speed, filters, and recording media.
