Royalty Schedule

The goal of our royalty model is to provide a lucrative revenue stream for our contributors, while at the same time making it affordable for our clients to find and use the perfect media for their video projects. Here's how it works:

Royalties are determined by the type of media content used. Depending on the content type, royalties may be based upon how long the content appears in an end user's final video project or more simply, may be earned whenever used one or more times in a project, regardless of duration.

Keep in mind that the most common length of an end-user video project is 30 seconds, and that royalties are earned when the video project "goes live" (i.e. becomes a revenue generating project for Clipcentric).

Media Type Earnings per Second (1) Earnings per Project (2) Maximum Royalty per Use (3)
Video $1.00 n/a $10.00
Photograph $0.50 n/a $5.00
Graphics $0.25 n/a $2.50
Music Tracks $0.15 n/a $5.00
Sound Effects n/a $0.50 n/a

(1) Earnings per second (EPS) indicates how much your media asset will earn you for each second it is included in an end-user's published video project.

(2) Earnings per project (EPP) indicates how much your media asset will earn you when it is included one or more times in an end-user's published video project.

(3) The maximum royalty per use refers to the cap on your royalty for the use of an asset in a single end-user video project.

Typical Use Cases and Example Royalty Payments

  1. You upload a 20 second video clip
  2. Our end-user selects your video, and uses 5 seconds of it in his/her video project
  3. When the video project "goes live", you earn $1.00/sec * 5 sec = $5.00
  4. Same end-user builds a second, related video project, and uses the same 5 seconds of your content again. When this video project "goes live", you earn another $5.00.
  1. You upload a photograph
  2. Our end-user selects your photograph, and it appears for 5 seconds in his/her video project
  3. When the video project "goes live", you earn $0.50/sec * 5 sec = $2.50
  4. Same end-user builds a second, related video project, and uses the same photo again for 5 seconds. When this video project "goes live", you earn another $2.50
  1. You upload a graphic file
  2. Our end-user selects your graphic, and it appears twice for 5 seconds each time in his/her video project
  3. When the video project "goes live", you earn $0.25/sec * 5 sec * 2 times = $2.50
  4. Same end-user builds a second, related video project, and uses the same graphic again for 5 seconds. When this video project "goes live", you earn another $1.25
  1. You upload a one minute music track
  2. Our end-user selects your music track, and uses 30 seconds of it in his/her video project
  3. When the video project "goes live", you earn $0.15/sec * 30 sec = $4.50
  4. Same end-user builds a second, related video project, and uses the same music track again for 30 seconds. When this video project "goes live", you earn another $4.50
  1. You upload a 4 second sound effect
  2. Our end-user selects your sound effect, and uses it three times in his/her video project
  3. When the video project "goes live", you earn $0.50
  4. Same end-user builds a second, related video project, and uses the same sound effct again, this time four times. When this video project "goes live", you earn another $0.50

Why is this better?

It's better for you because it removes barriers to purchase, making sure your media gets used and earns you money... each time it is used to create a project.

It's better for our clients because they only pay for what they need, allowing them to produce higher quality videos at an affordable price.

Payments to Contributors

Payments are issued to contributors at the end of every month for accrued balances of at least $50.00 US. At the end of the year, all outstanding balances are settled.

Contributors are required to submit the appropriate tax forms prior to any payments being issued. See Taxes and Withholding for information.

Payments to US residents are made by check, or optionally to your paypal account.

Foreign contributors are paid through PayPal, and therefore need to have a paypal account to receive payments.
